Shalya Tantra, one of the eight major branches of Ayurveda, is the ancient surgical discipline founded by Acharya Sushruta, revered as the ‘Father of Surgery.’ With roots tracing back to Lord Dhanvantari, this branch emphasizes surgical precision, innovative techniques, and holistic healing. The ‘Sushruta Samhita,’ a timeless surgical compendium, stands as a testament to the advanced surgical methodologies practiced in ancient India, including procedures for fractures, intestinal obstructions, wounds, and reconstructive surgery.
