Education Research & Development Foundation (ERDF) is registered as a charitable trust under the provision of Indian Trust Act 1882 and as per the provisions under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. The head office of the Foundation is located at ERDF Bhawan, Lalmati Road, Bhetapara, Guwahati. ERDF is the largest & fastest growing educational network in the north-eastern region, catering education from KG to PG to Ph.D. There are 9,000 students in the institutions of ERDF out of which 20% belong to underprivileged backward classes. At present, ERDF institutions have 63 courses, 36 Departments and 7 Research Journals. Nearly 20,000 students have graduated from different institutions of ERDF wherein more than 15,000 alumni are settled in various sectors across the country. ERDF has today emerged as the premier educational network of NE India.
One of the most ambitious projects of ERDF is the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) which was established under the provision of the University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya Act (No 6 of 2008) enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Meghalaya and started its courses since 2011.
